The RBMS announced its inaugural funding for research grants open to Honours and Masters students in early 2022, with the following aims:

  • To support development of new knowledge in integrated catchment management, and
  • To support students within our community of practice.

Up to two awards were available with a value of $1000 AUD each. Congratulations to our successful applicants James and Stephanie!

  • James Malcher (Deakin University) undertaking a Masters of Sustainability looking at – Why, how wide, how much? A methodology for estimating costs & co-benefits of riparian zones on agricultural land along the Upper Barwon.
  • Stephanie Brown (University of Melbourne) undertaking a Masters of Science (Ecosystem Science) looking at – Drivers of organic matter decomposition of headwater streams in an urbanizing region.
